SER Certification

The Bailiwick of Jersey passed a building byelaw in 2007 that replaced the previous system of building control in Jersey. The act introduced new changes to the Building Standards System to ensure the safe design of a building structure.

Any new building projects that are subject to a building permit will need to engage in the services of an approved Body for the Certification of the structural design. To find an approved body, you may use the States of Jersey Planning and Environment department (PED) Certification Register (found at www.gov.je) or check the registration of a known firm.

JM Welding ensures that all our stainless steel and balustrade systems are load tested and SER certified so that they meet all local building control requirements.
